NIF Global has opened its new Bandra campus, and actor Ananya Panday inaugurated it. As the institute’s Style Icon, she spent the afternoon with students, faculty and guests from fashion and film, and the highlight was her time talking with students.
A launch built around students
The inauguration was more conversation than ceremony. Tisha Khosla, Creative Educator at NIF Global Corporate, led a session with Ananya on fashion trends, personal style and the kinds of careers open to young creatives today.
Students then took over with a question-and-answer round. They asked about styling, modelling, working in Bollywood and how to build a career in a creative field. The afternoon closed with games and activities, and the room stayed lively to the end.
What Ananya Panday told students
Ananya spoke about fashion as a way of expressing who you are, and about how much she enjoyed hearing students’ ideas and plans. She said that “a campus like NIF Global Bandra can give students the right environment” to experiment, learn and find their own identity. She also said she was glad to be part of the campus’s start as NIF Global’s Style Icon.
Her advice was simple and repeated in different ways: be yourself, trust your creativity and build confidence early.
Why a campus in Bandra
For Vivek Gautam and Mamta Gautam, who have grown NIF Global’s Aandheri, Bandra and Thane centres, the opening marks a long-planned step. They described it as “our long-held vision of establishing an NIF Global centre in the heart of Bandra” and said the campus will give young people across Mumbai a route into fashion, interior design and other creative careers. They also thanked Ananya for taking time to meet the students.
The location matters. Khar and Bandra sit at the centre of Mumbai’s fashion, lifestyle and entertainment scene, with studios, boutiques, production houses and design firms close by. Students here learn a short distance from the industry they want to join, which makes workshops, visits and live projects easier to arrange.
What students can study at NIF Global Bandra
The campus offers three main programme areas:
- Fashion design: garment design, fabrics and styling, taught through hands-on studio work
- Interior design: space planning, layouts and materials, with projects based on real settings
- Product design and design management: planning and managing creative projects across fashion, interiors and related fields
Students can join after Class 10 with a one-year Foundation Certificate, or after Class 12 with the 4-year B.Des or 3-year B.Voc. Graduates can take postgraduate certificates or the 2-year M.Voc. All courses are approved by NSDC / Skill India, and students also receive NIF Global certificates.
Teaching starts with practice. Students begin design tasks early, theory is added when it helps the work, and mentors from the industry review projects and give regular feedback.
